Scuba Diving

Madeira waters area a paradise for scuba diving.  The Atlantic waters around the island are a rich and full of life environment, several species of fish are to be found including Monkfish, Dolphins, Parrot fish, Trigger fish, Octopus and plenty more. Scuba diving in Madeira is definitely a rich experience you will not forget. In the island there are several diving schools, providing training by fully qualified trainers, examinations and certification. Desert Island Regatta

Funchal`s Naval Club organises the “Desert Island Regatta” during the month of June. The championship is from Madeira to the Desert Islands and gathers 12 boats totalizing 100 participants.

Festas da Se

A folk Festival taking place from the 25th of May to 2nd of June.

Atlantic Festival in Madeira

This Festival happens from the 1st to the 30th of June, it is organised by the local entities connected to

culture and tourism.  Madeira becomes the stage of:  Madeira Music Festival 

International Fireworks Competition Philharmonic bands performing in the city centre 

Classical musical performances take place in the theatre – “ Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias”, in “Casa das Mudas” (near our houses in Calheta) and in several churches.

An event full of joy to be mostly appreciated.

Madeira - A place to live with quality

The “Island of Eternal Springtime”, “The Pearl of the Atlantic”, “The Floating Garden of the Atlantic”, some of the many descriptions made of the island by the many visitors since it was first discovered by the Portuguese in the 15th century. Europe focused it’s attention in Madeira for its production of sugar cane (the white gold) and for its typical and most appreciate wine. Transport

Madeira archipelago has two international airports, one in Funchal (the capital city of Madeira) and the other one in the island of Porto Santo Funchal`s airport has flights from and to most European capitals. The duration of the trip from London is 3.10 hours and from Lisbon is 1.20 hours. 

You can get to Porto Santo by boat (Lobo Marinho), a lmodern boat that travels everyday between Madeira and Porto Santo. Travelling by car in Madeira has been made easy due to a huge investment made in transport networks. There are modern roads allowing you to visit all island, including the old days most inaccessible small villages hidden is the mountains.
