A folk Festival taking place from the 25th of May to 2nd of June.
There are philharmonic bands performing in Funchal, university choirs and the party lasts until midnight. A fun time to be spent with the opportunity of trying the traditional delicacies and drinks typical of Madeira Island.

This Festival happens from the 1st to the 30th of June, it is organised by the local entities connected to
culture and tourism. Madeira becomes the stage of: Madeira Music Festival
International Fireworks Competition Philharmonic bands performing in the city centre
Classical musical performances take place in the theatre – “ Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias”, in “Casa das Mudas” (near our houses in Calheta) and in several churches.
An event full of joy to be mostly appreciated.

All year round there are popular parties outdoors in several villages in Madeira. There you can eat hot bread with “Chourico”, drink home made wine, eat the traditional “Petiscos”, including the traditional bacalhau (salted dried cod fish). These parties are traditional and offer you a relaxed, typical enjoyable time.

The Festival is hold usually in the Cathedral of Funchal and in the beautiful “Teatro Municipal” in the end of May. Students from the local “Conservatoire” perform several musics alongside with invited musician from all over the world.

This Festival happens in the weekend at the end of April. It brings to Funchal an enourmous variety of flowers, colours and wonderful smells. Funchal is becomes a city of flowers. Everything in the city shows flowers including streets covered with carpets and pictures made of flowers, shop windows, churches and houses all decorated with flowers. The peak of the festival is the parade of flower-smothered floats through Funchal`s streets.
The island has many visitors for this festival, and finding a hotel is not an easy task during this period.

The island is famous for its tradition in producing the tasty Madeira Wine, a well known wine in many parts of the world. Madeira wine has been an important product for the island`s economy since the times of the first settlers. Madeira Wine`s Festival is an annual event dates from centuries ago, commemorated in September ( the grape harvest period). Camara de Lobos and Funchal presents wine tasting, and typical folk dance in the streets, with it`s traditional music and colourful clothes. In Camara dos Lobos the Festival starts with the grape harvest until the treading of grapes and a pickers parade.
