We
have searched assiduously for a property in Madeira over the past
8 years and had all but given up hope when we met Filipe ... of
VIPM homes who showed us the delightful development of 4 homes in
the little hamlet of Lombo do Douro just above the village of Calheta
on the sunniest coastline of Madeira.
After several mishaps with various unsavoury characters whom we
had previously dealt with on the island,
it was a delight to meet such a wholesome young man and his business
partner, both Madeiran lawyers of considerable reputation. They
have assisted us in every way possible and nothing has been too
much trouble for them. The houses represent excellent value for
money and are finished to a high standard.
We were particularly impressed with the oak flooring and woodwork
throughout and the stunning modern bathrooms and kitchen. The properties
have an uninterrupted view over sea and mountain yet offer considerable
privacy and tranquillity. Each property has ample terracing with
several borders ready for planting.
The houses are equipped with a strong security door, double glazing
and shutters which makes them easy to lock up and leave in
the unlikely event you may wish to return to the UK or travel further
afield! Funchal, the third largest city in Portugal is a mere 30
minutes drive and an extra 10 minutes or so takes you to the airport.
Two of the four houses within this development have already been
sold but it is perhaps worth mentioning that Filipe and his partner
have two further properties in an advanced state of development
situated a little closer to Funchal each of which has the advantage
of a private swimming pool.
If you are seeking a property in Madeira, we cannot recommend these
developers highly enough!
We are
delighted with the house in Lombo do Doutor, above Calheta, which
we have just bought from VIPM Homes, a company which is owned and
operated by two reputable Madeiran lawyers.
As usual for its developments VIPM has selected a prime site with
stunning sea and mountain views in the sunniest and warmest part
of the island. But more than this, the houses are spacious and thoughtfully
designed and well constructed to a very high standard with fine
floors and bathroom, kitchen and bedroom fittings.
We have found the principals of VIPM helpful and courteous and the
purchase procedure clear and simple.
We think the houses on this development represent very good value
for money and we thoroughly recommend VIPM to anyone thinking of
buying a house in Madeira.
